Family’s shocking discovery: Woman found dead in locked room
According to Ndubane, Mbali Mahlangu, the 31-year-old victim, was last seen Saturday night, Feb. 1, 2025, before she turned in for sleep.
“The family grew dubious when they got back from church in the afternoon and discovered her room still locked and closed,” Ndubane remarked. “They choose to unlock the room using a spare key. Their surprise was a puddle of blood, the victim half-naked, sporting just a T-shirt, facing skyward.
When police and paramedics arrived on the scene, Mahlangu was declared dead, Ndubane said.
“A murder case was opened, and during the preliminary investigation it was found that the victim had multiple visible injuries on her body,” Ndubane said. ” She might have been stabbed with a sharp object.”

Separately, on November 30, a 50-year-old woman was discovered deceased in her Ka Petsa village, Limpopo, house.
Police spokesman Col. Malesela Ledwaba said the woman was alone at the time her husband was out working informal jobs. Later that day he went home and discovered all the doors locked.
“He opened the door since he had a spare key,” Ledwaba stated. “He ate his dinner, discovered food already made for him, and retired to sleep until the next day.”
According to IOL, Further inquiry turned up evidence that the couple resided in separate homes on the same land.
Police at the time claimed to have made arrests.
“Police believe that a man known to the victim, who frequented the home and lived nearby, may assist in the investigation and help resolve the case,” Ledwaba remarked.Â
