A Sekhukhune United player named Shaun Mogaila appeared before the Thembisa Magistrate Court after being charged with three crimes: culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving and fleeing the scene.
He is accused of causing a fatal accident in October 2024 which killed Gomolemo Mavimbela who was nine years old. Prosecutors in the Thembisa Magistrate Court asked for an adjournment on Tuesday when Shaun Mogaila returned from his R20,000 bail release last year.
The state demanded time to collect post-mortem and J88 medical paperwork but will return on May 19, 2025. The case of Mogaila now faces surgery for May 19, 2025 according to Magistrate Mmule Phatshwane because additional investigations need to be completed.
Allegations of drugs, alcohol, and fleeing the scene
The impact between Mogaila driving his black BMW and the red Hyundai i10 occurred on Andrew Mapheto Drive in Tembisa spatially resulted in severe injuries to Keo and a 13-year-old boy who were riding in the red Hyundai i10.
