Chase Leads to Armed Suspect’s Arrest

Traffic officials and law enforcement received a tip-off about suspects traveling in a gold BMW along Andrew Mapeto Drive in Tembisa. The vehicle matched the description provided, prompting officers to approach the car. However, the driver refused to stop, sparking a high-speed chase.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle slowed down in the Endulwini section, near the corner of Kubheka and Khumalo streets. At this point, one of the suspects leaped out of the car and fled on foot, carrying a black bag. Officers quickly apprehended the suspect and discovered three black firearms and live ammunition inside the bag.

Police transported the arrested man to Tembisa SAPS for detention, where he faces charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
