Mpumalanga Police Investigate Fatal Neighborhood Shooting

Police in Mpumalanga are investigating a double murder following a deadly shooting at Sheba Siding in Low’s Creek on Wednesday afternoon.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, two gunmen entered a 40-year-old man’s home, followed him to the backyard, and opened fire.

A 47-year-old neighbor also lost her life after stray bullets hit her, while she was peering through her shack.

Witnesses reported seeing two suspects armed with firearms fleeing the scene shortly after the attack.

Gunfire exchange and scene investigation

A resident of the house, believed to have been armed, reportedly shot back at the attackers before escaping the scene.

According to IOL, he later returned to find both his neighbor and the original victim dead.

Authorities collected multiple bullet casings, live ammunition and other forensic evidence at the scene.

However, authorities have made no arrests, and they have not determined the motive behind the attack.

Police urge the public to assist

Mpumalanga’s acting police commissioner, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, condemned the killings and asked officers to expedite their investigation of the suspects.
