GIYANI, LIMPOPO – Authorities in Giyani are searching for a Limpopo murder suspect accused of a brutal attack that left a 26-year-old woman dead and three others injured. Police have urged the public to provide any information that could lead to his arrest.
Deadly Attack in Homu 14B Village
The violent incident unfolded on Sunday, February 23, in Homu 14B Village. Matonciri Man’ombe reportedly arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s home and stood at the gate, asking for water. However, when she stepped outside to hand him some, he allegedly launched a violent attack.
According to Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Man’ombe struck the woman with a beer bottle before she ran into the house, trying to escape. He then followed her inside and stabbed her multiple times.
Family Members Also Attacked
As the woman’s family attempted to intervene, the situation turned even more violent. The suspect allegedly attacked her mother, younger brother, and a neighbor with a broken bottle, leaving them seriously injured.
Following the brutal assault, Man’ombe fled the scene.
Police Seek Public Assistance
Police arrived at the home and found the 26-year-old woman dead. Paramedics transported the three injured victims to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe finding Man’ombe is critical to their investigation. Ledwaba urged the public to report any information about his whereabouts to their nearest police station.
Call for Justice
The community remains in shock after the gruesome attack. Many residents are calling for swift action to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
“The police investigations are continuing,” Ledwaba stated.
