Police open murder case as suspect remains at large
“A murder case has been opened after the Sandringham South African Police Service (SAPS) visited the location of the crime. To ascertain the motivation behind this horrible crime, investigators are working hard,” JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla stated.
According to Fihla, the suspect is still at large despite being thought to be known. Although the suspect’s identify has not been made public, authorities are still working to find and capture him.
“The JMPD and SAPS are collaborating closely to offer all the assistance required for the inquiry. We’re determined to give Officer Makwela and her family justice,” Fihla continued.
Since the murder, the town has been rocked, and locals are worried about the increase in violence. Coworkers and neighbors characterized Makwela as a committed officer and a well-respected community member.
