Limpopo comedian Livhuwani Madadzhe, widely known as ‘SABC Livhu,’ faces fresh legal troubles. Already standing trial for his wife’s murder and previous fraud allegations, he now faces new charges of vehicle theft and fraud.
New allegations emerge
Madadzhe recently appeared at the Thohoyandou Magistrates’ Court. Authorities accuse him of renting a BMW X3 from Avis and failing to return it.
The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Limpopo also claims he fraudulently hired cars from several rental companies and disappeared with them.
He allegedly misrepresented himself on social media as an agent for Avis and other car rental companies. Reports suggest he scammed clients by offering vehicles for hire that he did not possess.
Previous murder and fraud charges
These latest charges add to Madadzhe’s ongoing murder trial. Authorities allege that he killed his wife, Lindelani Nengovhela, and buried her at their home.
He also faces two separate fraud charges. One involves allegations that he faked his mother’s death and used a forged death certificate to claim a fraudulent funeral policy payout.
Strict bail conditions
Despite these serious allegations, Madadzhe previously secured bail set at R50,000 ($2,650 USD). The court imposed strict conditions.
He must avoid contacting state witnesses, refrain from criminal activity, and report to the Sandton police station twice weekly, every Monday and Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
His recent court appearance led to the postponement of his bail hearing, now set for March 18. His murder trial will continue on March 17.
What’s next for ‘SABC Livhu’?
Madadzhe’s legal troubles show no signs of easing. His upcoming court dates for murder, fraud, and theft charges will likely determine the course of his future.
