Eastern Cape police are hunting killers after unknown assailants killed a mother and daughter during a violent home invasion in Dulasile, near Nkondlo Administrative Area, on the evening of April 11.
The Attack
According to police spokesperson Captain Namhla Mdleleni, the victims, aged 38 and 19, were asleep in their home around 9 p.m. when armed assailants forced their way inside.
“Police allege that the victims were sleeping when unknown men kicked down the door.” Upon entering, the men fired shots and killed both of them,” Mdleleni said.
The attackers shot and killed both women at the scene. Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the attack. The police are working to determine what led to this tragic double murder.
“Mdleleni confirmed that investigators have not yet established the motive for the killing, and it remains part of the investigation.”

In a related incident, police arrested six suspects on the N2 highway near Kinkelbos, Eastern Cape. The arrest followed the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Bulelani Dayile during a house robbery in KwaMaqoma township on March 10.
Police intercepted a Suzuki Ertiga that matched the description of the getaway vehicle. Inside, they found an unlicensed firearm, ammunition, and a stolen cellphone.
Armed men shot Dayile while he sat in his kitchen. Four armed men stormed his home and fled with a cellphone. The suspects now face charges of murder, house robbery, possession of stolen property, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
