Eastern Cape police responded to a distress call around 7 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived at the house in Maliwa Location, eMaxesibeni, they found a 69-year-old woman dead in her bedroom.
She had suffered multiple stab wounds to her upper body. Warrant Officer Majola Nkohli confirmed the woman’s death at the scene. According to police, the woman was alone at the time of the incident.
This brutal crime has left the local community in shock. Authorities have opened a murder investigation.

Police have not released the woman’s name. However, they confirmed she lived alone in the Manzana Administrative Area.
