Calls for Immediate Action

Makaneta condemned the violence and called the use of firearms on campus unacceptable. He urged the South African Police Service (SAPS) to act swiftly and arrest the perpetrator.

“We demand action from SAPS and the university to address this incident and prevent future occurrences. The time for words is over; it’s time for action. We will be watching closely to ensure that those responsible are held accountable,” Makaneta said.

We will not rest until our universities are safe and secure environments where students can thrive and reach their full potential,” Makaneta concluded, stressing the importance of immediate action.
