Campbell Scott vanishes after leaving Nairobi hotel

After leaving the JW Marriott Hotel in Westlands, where he was attending a three-day business program, Scott, 58, was reported missing on February 17. His body was brought to the mortuary of Makueni County Referral Hospital after being found in a bag in Makongo Forest along the Wote-Machakos road.

According to detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, Scott was last observed in a Westlands club before to his disappearance. He was seen on CCTV leaving the hotel with a man in blue pants and a white T-shirt before getting into a car. The taxi driver who took him that evening and a club waiter were later taken into custody by investigators.

Herder finds businessman’s body tied up in remote forest

A local herder discovered Scott’s decaying remains on February 22. Police believe he was killed somewhere else and left in the isolated area, some 110 kilometers (68 miles) southeast of Nairobi, because his wrists and legs were bound with a green nylon rope.

Preliminary evidence, according to authorities, shows Scott visited many Westlands establishments, including a popular homosexual pub. Investigators are trying to piece together his final interactions and movements prior to his disappearance. As part of the investigation, at least six people have provided testimonies, including security guards and hotel employees.

Scott was in Nairobi for a business meeting with representatives from the United States, the United Kingdom, and numerous African nations. Scott is a senior director at the data analytics firm FICO. His employer confirmed his trip and sent his family their sympathy.

The Foreign Office in London has promised to support Scott’s family, and the U.K. High Commission in Nairobi is helping local authorities with the investigation.

While authorities continue interviewing the detained suspects, Scott’s remains are anticipated to be sent to Nairobi for an autopsy.
