The SAPS in Gauteng is urging the public to help them find Ali Mugoya, also known as Arizona, who they want to interview over Emmanuel Mahamba’s murder during a love triangle dispute on April 5 in Rivonia, Sandton.
Social media users watched the murder unfold in footage that showed a grey Ford Ranger double cab bakkie repeatedly running over a motionless Emmanuel Mahamba lying on the road. The video moved people across South Africa and prompted an intense probe by the police.
Police seek to interview Mugoya, urge public to help
Lt. Col. Mavela Masondo said police have identified Mugoya after recognizing him in several widely shared online images and believe he holds key information about the incident.
Masondo added that their investigation could move forward significantly with any details Mugoya also known as Arizona might provide.
Police said they have not charged Mugoya at this stage but need to interview him, as he may have information about the events leading up to the murder.
