Aserie Sibusiso Ndlovu, a community radio journalist, and his partner, Zodwa Precious Mdhluli, have been missing since February 18, 2025.
They were last seen leaving their home in Mpumalanga in a white Volkswagen Citi Golf. The couple’s disappearance has raised alarm, and efforts to find them have grown stronger. As of Monday, it had been 43 days without any sign of them.
The African Media and Communicators Forum (AMCF) and the National Press Club have teamed up to offer a R50,000 reward for information that could help locate the couple.
This effort aims to encourage the public to share any helpful details. Despite the challenges, the media community remains hopeful that Ndlovu and Mdhluli will be found soon.
Media community supports the search
Elijah Mhlanga, chairperson of the African Media and Communicators Forum, remains optimistic about the search.
“We are still hopeful about finding them. We’ve stepped up our efforts, and every day our anxiety grows,” Mhlanga said.
He asked the public to share any information they might have and urged people across South Africa to help in any way they can.
Many colleagues in the media have come together to support Ndlovu and Mdhluli’s families, praying for their safe return.
Mhlanga emphasized how important it is for people to report anything that could lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.
Forensic investigator joins the search
Forensic crime investigator Calvin Rafadi, a research associate at the University of Johannesburg, has volunteered to help with the search. Rafadi has experience working with law enforcement and is using his connections to aid the investigation.
Mhlanga confirmed that the R50,000 reward is still available for anyone who provides information that helps solve the case.
“We continue to pray for the families, especially for the couple’s children,” he said.
