Multiple people have been shot dead following a violent confrontation between police and armed suspects on the M4 highway near the Old Airport in KwaZulu-Natal.
According to ALS Paramedics, the southbound lane of the M4 has been closed near the Merebank off ramp as authorities secure the crime scene.
“The situation is still unfolding, and emergency services are on high alert,” said an ALS spokesperson. Witnesses reported hearing sustained gunfire, with some describing the scene as “chaotic and terrifying.”
