The case began on April 3, 2024, when Ndlovu attacked his 40-year-old ex-girlfriend in Umthwalume. Using a stick, he assaulted her, causing serious injuries that required immediate medical attention. Police registered the assault at the Hibberdene Police Station due to the severity of her injuries.

Escalating Violence and the Removal of His Daughter

Just weeks later, on April 20, Ndlovu’s behavior escalated. He approached his ex-girlfriend while she was with her current boyfriend, demanding to see their daughter and threatening to take her away. Ndlovu traveled to Esiqungeni, where his aunt was caring for the child. He forcibly removed the child from her aunt’s custody, leading to a tragic and violent act.

The Tragic Death of His Daughter

Ndlovu proceeded to strangle the young girl, resulting in her death. Afterward, he contacted his ex-girlfriend, informing her of where to find their daughter’s body. The police responded quickly, opening a murder investigation and apprehending Ndlovu shortly after the crime.

Investigation and Court Sentencing

Detectives from Hibberdene Police Station carried out an extensive investigation, uncovering substantial evidence against Ndlovu. Faced with overwhelming proof, he chose to plead guilty to all charges.
