A violent shooting incident on Nandi Drive near Kew Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, has left one person dead and three others seriously injured.

The shooting incident, which occurred on Friday, March 7, 2025, has prompted authorities to close off the area to traffic as investigations continue.

According to Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for ALS Paramedics, the altercation involved four suspects. “One suspect was declared dead at the scene, while the other three sustained serious gunshot wounds and were rushed to the hospital under police guard,” Jamieson stated.

Police investigate motive as area remains closed to traffic

The motive behind the shooting is still unknown, leaving investigators scrambling for answers. “We advise motorists to avoid the area at all costs because this will be active for some time,” Jamieson added, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
