According to testimony Fankomo grabbed a nine-year-old girl in Hazyview on April 29 2009 after which he dragged her into bush territory before forcing her through a sexual assault as she tried getting to her uncle’s house.
On October 27, 2021 Gilbert Fankomo obtained an eight-year-old child in Masoyi through a disguise claiming her mother sent him to buy chicken which led to his forced rape of her in a remote area.
The accused Fankomo assaulted a nine-year-old girl in Calcutta market November 2021 by feigning financial distress to pay his children then took her to a secluded area before raping her.
During March 2022 the suspect violated an 11-year-old girl in Calcutta by locking her and her younger siblings inside an unfinished building as he committed such acts of cruelty against the child.
Reason for previous prison term of serial rapist Gilbert Fankomo
Every investigation of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit members received thorough examination in their expert capacity. Mdhluli stated that serial rapist Gilbert Fankomo spent his prior 18-year prison term for rape from June 2010 until his April 2019 release on parole.
