Kidnappers took one victim from his home on March 27. He allegedly endured traumatic experiences at the hands of the camp’s operators. Captors forced him to swim in a muddy dam and cover his head in mud. The victim also endured physical abuse, including the captors striking him with a sjambok and a pick pipe. Additionally, reports claim the camp deprived him of food and sanitation. After enduring this torment, the victim managed to escape on April 8.
Court Appearance and Future Proceedings
Police presented the suspects before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on April 11. They postponed the case until April 16 for a formal bail application. Both suspects remain in custody.
