Businessowner Fiona Mutongwizo from Cape Town alongside her company received suspended sentences after a court found them guilty on twelve counts involving non-submission of revenue reports to South African Revenue Service. A ruling appeared at the Bellville Magistrate’s Court.

Mutongwizo (39 years old) together with her company faced conviction for their failure to file tax returns during the span of 2022 through 2024. Mutongwizo accepted all of the charges put forward against her during the hearing.
Under the twelve counts of tax return non-filing the company paid R6,000 fines which were fully suspended for a time period of five years.
The cape town businesswoman sentenced, Mutongwizo paid R6,000 in fines that alternatively equaled twelve months behind bars for each count though her court ordered R2,000 in fines served six months in prison under suspension for five years unless she renewed similar offenses.
Payment terms
Payment for the R48,000 fine requires a starting payment of R5,000 followed by R43,000 paid at R2,150 per month and ending with the last payment due January 2, 2027. The Bellville Magistrate’s Court Clerk serves as the payment recipient.
